The Aille River Hostel Lodge and Camping Doolin is a 300-year-old renovated building situated on a quiet road on the bank of the Aille River, right in the centre of Doolin.
This is a perfect spot for your stopover or extended stay in the area, where you will experience a warm friendly atmosphere in old-world surroundings. Visit the sights of Clare or chill out by the river during the day, then relax by the turf fire or check out the traditional music in the local pubs.
Sitting right on the Wild Atlantic Way, the Aille River Hostel Lodge and Camping Doolin is the gateway to the majestic world-famous 700 ft Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, and the unique beauty of the Burren landscape, home to thousands of rare wildflowers and archaeological Celtic sites.
Having been in operation for 35 years, they welcome back many return visitors who say that coming back to the Aille River Hostel Lodge and Camping Doolin is like returning home. On a cold evening, the turf fire beckons, when the sky is blue and the grassy banks of the Aille river invite one for a snooze in the sun, and whatever the weather, the atmosphere is always warm and friendly.
They encourage traditional music sessions – by the fireside or riverside – and many musicians stop over with them regularly.
All their rooms are private and ensuite. They also have a quiet campsite for tents and a riverside Glamping Tipi.
There is a fully equipped self-catering kitchen available and they offer a breakfast selection and good coffee for a small fee.
